SCHOOL RULES

School rules are an essential part of any community, designed for the benefit of that community. School rules should be known and understood by all students.

 

1. Play only in designated areas.
2. Always walk when on the concrete/asphalt areas and the verandah.
3. Always walk when using balance beam or fixed seating.
4. Always walk when going around the equipment shed or any corners of buildings.
5. Avoid pushing anyone.
6. Do not run through the sand area or the soft fill of all the fixed equipment.
7. No pupil should enter a room unless a teacher has given permission.
8. Pupils who arrive early before 8.30am must sit on the primary verandah.
9. Pupils whose parents are late collecting them must sit on the primary verandah.
10. If a child leaves the school before 3pm they must be accompanied by an adult.

11. If a ball or any item goes outside the playground students must seek assistance from the teacher on duty.
12. Pupils must seek permission from the teacher on duty to go to the staffroom.
13. Hats must be full brimmed and worn in the playground.
14. Cricket/soccer – infants and primary play separately except for Year 3 who have the option to choose the appropriate level of play for them.
15. No playing with balls in the weather shed or on the verandah, even in wet weather.
16. Do not pick up sticks or stones.
17. Stop playing when the bell rings, go to the toilets, wash hands and line up quietly.

Rules for fixed equipment:

18. No running on soft fill.
19. Do not walk or stand under the flying fox or double hanging bridge.
20. Only slide down the slippery dip.
21. Only one person on the fireman’s pole at a time.
22. Only two people on the double hanging bridge going in the same direction.
23. Playground equipment is not to be played on before or after school.


The consequences for disregarding the school rules can be:

Time out on the blue seat to reflect.
Time out in the office or a teacher’s room.
Behaviour modification programs.
Parents being invited for a meeting with the principal.
Counsellor intervention.
Suspension.
